How does the 30 day free trial work?

You don't pay a thing if you cancel within 30 days of signup.

How is my monthly bill calculated?

You are billed for the number of monitored servers on your billing date with a monthly minimum of $10 or $12 (depending on your plan). For example, if you are monitoring 20 servers on the first day of your billing period and 10 on the last, you are billed for 10 servers.

How does Scout run plugins on my servers without having to install scripts?

When an agent contacts our server, the server transmits that agent's unique plugin plan. The agent then runs each plugin, sending back any alerts, errors, and reports. All communication is done over https through a 256-bit secure, encrypted connection (the same encryption your bank uses).

What type of support is available?

We offer email (support@scoutapp.com) support on all of our plans and typically respond within a couple of hours during the business day.

What operating systems has the Scout agent been tested on?

The Scout agent has been tested on the popular Linux distributions, Mac OSX, and Solaris.

What are the system requirements?

Scout requires Ruby version 1.8.6 or later. Don't have Ruby installed? We'll guide you through the Ruby install during the setup. See http://www.ruby-lang.org/ for details.
